of accessories you wear.
When it comes to jewelry, I do love the look of ethnic accessories, made from natural or cultural material. But bear in mind that ethnic accessories are not suited for every attire. However, gold, pearls and diamond or diamond-crusted jewelries' is best suited for most looks, and THE choice for most ladies, because of their status symbol.
So, let's break it down to the what accessory is appropriate for which occasion;
- Office or official space: a small stud earrings is preferred. It could be gold, gold mixed with pearl or mixed with diamond. Whatever your choice, make sure to keep the size down; small. Your necklace should preferably match your earrings. Your wristwatch should match your earrings/necklace dominant material. E.g. if your earring is made from gold, then your wristwatch should be a gold chain or a gold leather-strap watch. Do not mix different metals jewelries' together. It looks tacky. Instead, wear gold with gold accessories, wear silver with silver accessories and vice versa.
- In a social space: your jewelry can be bolder, but never overwhelming. You can accessorize your outfit with a medium to large size pair of earrings and use that as the hero of your upper body look. Which means, necklace is probably not necessary. Or you could wear stud earrings and a statement necklace. Do not wear bold earring and necklace at the same time, it is overwhelming and not fashionable. If you must wear a drape earring, do leave your neck bare. Your bracelet and wristwatch in this case should be medium sized and in matching materials too. Remember, the gold on gold, or silver on silver rule. You can also accessorize with ethnic or costume jewelry in a social space. The main thing to keep in mind is to make sure they are quality made, concise and does not look too bright or cheap. Colored bangle earrings dangling from my earlobe, I would not wear, if I were going on a date or meeting a significant other and his friends. That kind of jewelry screams “street-girl". Do not forget, the goal is to always keep it classy as a feminine woman.
Well, that is it on jewelries. Join me next time as we continue to explore the importance of a Feminine woman's look.
